Electroactive polymers can be cut into various shapes and sizes, and this helps calibrate the sensor according to the desired sensor output voltage. EAP-based sensors are thus useful in large-scale applications such as monitoring constructions (and structures such as Golden Gate Bridge) for vibrations.
